49 Louise Hay Quotes on Healing Powers of The Mind

Louise Hay was a best-selling author of many self-help books and the founder of the publishing company, Hay House in 1984.

Hay who was born, Helen Vera Lunney, experienced a very traumatic childhood and eventually changed her name to Louise sometime after 1950. She achieved success working as a fashion model and married Andrew Hay in 1954.

14 Years later, her husband left her for another woman which led Hay to learn the transformative power of thought.

After studying New Thought works by author Florence Scovel Shinn and Religious Science founder Ernest Holmes, who taught that positive thinking can heal the body, it led her to become a Religious Science practitioner in the early 1970’s.

It was at this point where her journey of self-help teachings started. She wrote her first book in 1976, launched Hay House in 1984 which by 2015 was the leading publisher of self-help books by more than 130 authors and she appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 1988 after she was noticed leading support groups for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Her book You Can Heal Your Life has been translated into 30 languages and was made into a movie and to this day has sold over 50 million copies.
