Let’s dive right in.

What is Mindvalley?

Mindvalley is an education company, offering courses on personal transformation, entrepreneurship, relationships, fitness, creativity, parenting, and much more.

They also provide in-depth interviews, worldwide events, and a suite of mobile apps for students to learn on the go and connect with other learners.

Each course mentor is a leading expert in their field, from psychologists and philosophers to authors, entrepreneurs, and spiritual teachers.

What is Mindvalley

When you visit the Mindvalley website, you’ll notice there’s a few options you can choose from:

  1. Enroll in a free masterclass
  2. Browse individual courses
  3. Get access to everything

Before I break each of these down, let me first introduce you to who’s behind the company.

Meet The Founder of Mindvalley

vishen lakhiani e1612368268801

When Vishen Lakhiani found himself stressed and burned out as a computer engineer, he took up meditation, which completely changed his life.

He quit his job in Silicon Valley to study meditation, and he formed Mindvalley in 2003.

His goal with Mindvalley is this:

“To bring together the world’s top educators under one platform, to usher in a new era for humanity that is more empowered, connected, and collaborative than the status quo.”

Vishen Lakhiani

Since then, Vishen and his team have built Mindvalley into a community of over 12 million students from 80 countries, all with the goal to become the best version of themselves.

Vision is also a bestselling author of The Code for the Extraordinary Mind, which has been translated into 25+ languages.

The Mindvalley Mission

Mindvalley’s mission is to create a personal transformation that raises human consciousness.

mindvalley team
The Mindvalley team

Their single most important value is “human unity”, where they regard Mindvalley as an “earth company”.

Other company values include:

  1. Transformation – the continuous pursuit of personal growth and
  2. Envisioning – the continuous dreaming & building of a better future.

They stand by their goal to transform people into the best versions of themselves. They live and breathe self-growth, working from a place where growth is a goal in itself.

With that, let’s take a brief look at what Mindvalley has on offer. These are:

  • Masterclasses
  • Quests
  • The Membership

What’s a Mindvalley Masterclass?

A Mindvalley Masterclass is a free course lasting around 60-90 minutes. These classes are a deep dive into the core ideas and principles around each Mindvalley course.

free mindvalley masterclass

Masterclasses by themselves are extremely eye-opening. If you’re curious about one of Mindvalley’s courses, a free masterclass is a good place to start, because they help you determine if the course is right for you.

What’s a Mindvalley Quest?

Quests are the individual courses available at Mindvalley.

mindvalley quests
There are more than 30 Mindvalley Quests and counting

They call them Quests because they are not like other courses you might find online. These are literally transformational, opening your mind to what’s possible and shaping you into the person you want to become.

There’s over 30 Quests available and they continually add more Quests each month.

Topics range from:

  • Removing limiting beliefs
  • Learning and retaining information faster
  • Mastering life-changing habits
  • Developing intuition
  • Guided meditations
  • Inner peace and happiness
  • Experiencing higher states of awareness
  • Longevity and optimal health
  • Improve brain performance
  • Manifesting love
  • Achieving financial freedom
  • and so much more.

With a Mindvalley Quest, you can transform any area of your life that you want to focus on.

I’ll describe some individual Quests in more detail later in this review.

The Mindvalley Membership: Get Access to Everything

The Membership gives you access to every Quest (not including partner programs) on the platform.

If you’re ready for unlimited learning throughout the entire year, then the Membership is a brilliant choice. You get to enroll in any of the courses and you’ll save money if you were to buy Quests individually.

You’ll also get access to new Quests when they become available.

I enrolled in the new Charlie Morley Quest on Lucid Dreaming as soon as it became available. There’s a few other upcoming Quests I’m excited about that I get access to for free because of the Membership.

Inside a Mindvalley Quest: What to Expect

When you log into your Mindvalley account, you’ll see your dashboard with all the quests that you have enrolled in.

This is what your Mindvalley dashboard looks like

As you can see, I have several Quests I’m currently going through at the same time. I like to go through multiple lessons per day as I’m able to absorb a lot of information at once.

I also go through some lessons more than once, so I can fully understand it and deepen the information.

Here’s a look inside a Quest, so you can get an idea of the full experience:

inside a mindvalley quest
This is a Quests weeks page

When you first enroll in a quest, you start by choosing an enrollment date. Then you’ll get instant access to the warmup lessons.

Some Quests have more warmup lessons than others, for instance, the 10X Quest by Ronan Diego de Oliveira has five warmup lessons, whereas The Integral Life by Ken Wilber only has one.

However, all warmup lessons become available as soon as you enroll into a Quest.

This differs to the Quest lessons as they are drip fed one lesson per day.

mindvalley lessons unlocks each day
Experience Lucid Dreaming by Charlie Morley

You can see this here in this Quest I’m currently going through. I’ve completed the first two lessons, but there’s another 3 lessons available for me to watch. And tomorrow, day 6 will be unlocked and so on from there.

The reason Mindvalley doesn’t unlock the entire Quest in one go is because it’s better to learn in small doses every day.

I’ve noticed that when I keep up with a Quest every day, I retain more information than when I skip days and binge lessons to catch up.

Everyone’s learning style is unique though, and reading books and taking courses is what I do full time, so I’ve built that skill.

Each lesson has a video, written text of the key learning points, and actions to take for that lesson. These range from writing in a workbook to mini exercises, such as meditations or listening to a guided audio.

Each video lasts anything between 5 – 30 minutes. Most of them are short 10 minutes long so they won’t take up a huge chunk of your day.

The tasks at the bottom of each lesson can be checked off in addition to marking the lesson as complete. This is so you know which tasks you’ve completed.

Also from the lesson page is a Discussion tab at the top which allows you to talk to other students about what you’ve learned and share each other’s perspective.

Chat with Other Quest Members in the Lesson Discussion

Then there’s a full community for every Quest with all the students who have joined in this round of the program.

You can discuss your experience with the Quest, ask questions, meet like-minded individuals, and even make friends.

Every Quest has it’s own community to engage with other students and course coaches

It’s like a social network for people who love learning and improving themselves.

What’s Included in the Membership?

You also get a lot more extras when you sign up to the membership.

Membership Includes Lots of Extra Features

The membership includes:

  • All Programs
  • Mindvalley Series
  • Omvana Meditation App
  • Mindvalley Connections App
  • Local City Networks
  • Mindvalley Live Talks and Workshops

Let’s look at what the mobile apps offer.

Learn Anywhere, Anytime with The Mindvalley App

Mindvalley makes it super easy to go through the course material. You can go through the lessons on the website from your PC or use the app for Android or iOS devices.

You get access to the Mindvalley app when you sign up for any Quest, Mastermind, or the Membership. Just download the app and use your login details that were created when you signed up.

mindvalley app
Learn on the go with the Mindvalley App

The main app gives you the ability to complete lessons on the go, listen whilst driving, and makes the learning experience more convenient and enjoyable.

Even though most lessons are video based, it isn’t necessary to watch them, but listen to the lessons if you prefer. You can play a video and do other things while you learn, like working out, doing housework, or whilst driving.

The videos will continue to play even with your mobile screen off, which saves on your battery life.

The app gives you all the same capabilities as the website version. You can check off the lessons you complete and even get involved with the lesson discussions.

My only issue with the app (I’m on Android), is that it will often freeze if I want to watch a video in fullscreen. The audio will continue to play, but the app remains stuck until I restart the app again.

I’m not sure if this is an Android problem or with the device I’m using, but I have tested it on another older android device and the issue is the same.

This isn’t too much of an issue for me as I don’t use my mobile much to go through lessons, but I do like to watch some lessons on my TV on the odd occasion.

To do this, I have to use a web browser and cast my device to my TV. An even better solution would be an app for Android TV’s. I’m hoping they will develop this in the future.

Mindvalley Connections App

Mindvalley run their own private social media app called Connections.

Included in the Membership, you can now meet others who are enrolled in the same Quests as you and share your experience and personal transformation journey together.

The app also has search capabilities so you can find people in your home country or who are more local to you.

Fellow students can view your profile and learn more about your personal journey and the courses you’re enrolled in, you can make friends and help each other stay accountable.

Advanced Meditations with Omvana

Also included in the Membership is a meditation app called Omvana.

This app makes it easy to access the meditations from the quests you enroll in. So the meditations that show up in the Omvana app will reflect the Quests you take.

You can also browse other meditations based on the outcomes you want to achieve, such as life envisioning, finding your purpose, improving focus, and deepening your mind-body connection.

A feature I love is the option to listen to the vocals of the mediations only or pair them with background audio like fire, a riverside, or advanced binaural beats.

You can also set the volume between vocals and sound effects to make one louder than the other.

Mindvalley Mentoring

Mindvalley Mentoring is essentially interviews or “mentoring sessions” with Mindvalley founder Vishen.

Mindvalley Mentoring
There’s over 100 hours of Mentoring sessions included in the Mindvalley Membership

100 hours of Mentoring sessions included in the Mindvalley Membership

These interviews started off as Skype calls with the most successful people in all areas of life and they soon turned into full production interviews shot all around the world.

Mentoring vs Quests

The difference between Mindvalley Mentoring and Mindvalley Quests is simple, Mentoring are in-depth interviews that last anything from 30 to 60 minutes, and Quests are full courses that last several days or weeks.

Some Mentoring sessions come in more than one part, where they might offer a special meditation or live workshop.

Here are some great Mentoring sessions I’ve really enjoyed:

  • How to Live to be 180 with Dave Asprey
  • From Suffering to Manifesting with Sarah Prout
  • Cultivating the Mind of the Warrior with David Goggins
  • The Physics of Spirituality with Nassim Haramein
  • The Most Dangerous Lies we Believe about Food with Eric Edmeades
  • How Journaling Helps Create a $500M Company with Patrick Grove

You can gain access to Mindvalley Mentoring through the Mindvalley Membership.

There are almost 100 Mindvalley Mentoring sessions for you to enjoy, and they’re constantly adding more.

Mindvalley Quests I’m Taking

I’ve created a list of the best Mindvalley courses to help you decide which course to take.

Here’s an overview of a few Quests I’ve either completed or am currently going through.

I’ll be adding full reviews of the Quests I complete, so stay tuned for those.

The Habit of Ferocity with Steven Kotler

Habit Of Ferocity By Steven Kotler Mindvalley
Develop life changing habits in The Habit of Ferocity with Steven Kotler

If you are looking to perform at your absolute best, day in and day out, then The Habit of Ferocity is the course for you.

I absolutely loved this course. Every lesson got me really fired up and excited to implement the practices it teaches. The man behind it is Steven Kotler, author of several books including The Art of Impossible: A Peak Performance Primer and Bold: How to Go Big, Create Wealth and Impact the World.

Once you have finished this Quest, you will know how to switch on relentless motivation, set and achieve high and hard goals, and develop the key mindsets behind grit.

This is for the ferocious achiever or sports performance maniac who wants to squeeze every drop of themselves into their passion.

Even though this isn’t a course about getting into flow, everything Kotler teaches in the Habit of Ferocity is the quintessential driving force behind flow triggers.

If you follow this course and integrate the practices, you’ll achieve more states of flow as a byproduct.

Superbrain with Jim Kwik

mindvalley superbrain jim kwik
Create a Superbrain with Jim Kwik

I have pretty lofty goals for Grand Habit and for my life in general. If I can learn smarter and write faster, this should help me in achieving such goals.

That’s why I’ve chosen to enroll in Superbrain by Jim Kwik.

This Quest promises to help you develop a super memory and unlock your brain’s potential in just 30 days.

I absolutely love Jim’s teaching style as it is so “memorable” and fun. It’s obvious right from the beginning that he knows his stuff with learning in smart ways and activating our memory.

Jim Kwik is a world-leading expert in accelerated learning, memory, speed reading, and brain performance, and has coached the likes of Sir Richard Branson, Bill Gates, and many Hollywood stars such as the cast of X-Men.

I am currently on week four and I’m already seeing significant results. Whether it’s remembering huge shopping lists or something as simple as remembering someone’s name.

The techniques just work. But more importantly, my mind seems clearer and I’m being more proactive with my work.

The Superbrain Quest is broken into 5 weeks or 30 days, and lessons are relatively short. Some are slightly longer around 15-20 minutes but there’s many at just 5-7 minutes long.

I’m also learning smarter ways to take notes, which is perfect for when I’m taking courses or reading books and want to better consume the information.

You also get access to some bonus material including overcoming procrastination and how to remember your dreams so you can decipher profound insights about yourself.

I’m excited to complete this Quest so I can share my full review with you.

Duality with Jeffrey Allen

Duality By Energy Healer Jeffrey Allen Mindvalley
Access more awareness and intuition in Duality with Jeffrey Allen

Whether you realise it or not, we are all made of energy. The physical properties inside every atom that make up this material world are just a tiny proportion of the entire universe.

So if we manage our own energy system and become the master of our emotions, we’ll conserve this limited resource to better serve our future and the life we want to manifest.

Even Steven Kotler said, “It takes the same amount of energy and time to be the best dry cleaner in Cleveland, Ohio than it does to take on a world changing challenge like poverty or water scarcity.”

That’s why it’s so important to utilise our energy and direct it in a way that compounds our efforts in pursuing what we’re most passionate about.

This is what the Duality Quest is all about, and so much more.

When we can tune into our energy and become hypervigilant to the subtle changes inside us and around us, we are better able to notice then we’re moving in the right direction or falling off course.

Jeffrey Allen is an energy healer and teacher of this fascinating Quest Duality, which helps us harness our energy in profound ways beyond what we are currently aware of.

When we tap into the power of our energy body, we turn up the dial of our intuition, manifestation power, and healing abilities.

I’m excited to share my results with this Quest once I’ve completed it. It’s taught me so much already.

Free Ways to Start Your Online Learning with Mindvalley

There are several ways to gain access to Mindvalley content completely for free. Here are the best ways to get involved.

Free Mindvalley Masterclass

There is a free masterclass for every Mindvalley course available on the platform. These Masterclasses will open your mind to an alternative way of thinking and answer all your questions you might have about its respective course.

This is the best way to get a glimpse into what the Quests offer and also help you decide which is the right one for you.

Social Media

Mindvalley are highly active on most popular social media sites. Whether you use Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, they post regular content on these platforms so you can stay in the loop of what they offer.

YouTube

The YouTube channel is a great way to stay connected and learn something new, from live events to guest interviews.

The Mindvalley Podcast

I absolutely love the Mindvalley podcast! I have added their podcast episodes to my daily routine for the last few months and it’s such a great way to discover the teachers and transformation experts around the world.

Get your daily dose from these world class experts from your favourite podcast platform or on the website.

Is Mindvalley Worth the Investment?

After taking dozens (possibly hundreds) of online courses, some of which I paid over 4 figures for, I can say that the Mindvalley programs are among the best I have gone through.

When you choose a Quest, you’re investing in yourself for life because the programs are totally transformational.

If you know which Quest you want to take, you can pay around $200 – $500 depending on which one you choose. This will give you unlimited lifetime access to the program you purchase.

You also get free updates to your chosen Quest, so when a program gets updated every year, you have access to the upgraded material at no extra cost.

There is also a 15 day money back refund policy, so there is no risk if the program isn’t right for you.

If you’re unsure which program to choose or you feel ready to take multiple courses, then give the Membership a try. The 15 day refund applies to the membership too, so you’ve got nothing to lose.

mindvalley pricing
You can pay monthly or for the full year to save

The yearly membership is currently priced at USD 499.00 per year and gives you access to every Quest available. You also have the option to pay monthly if you prefer for USD 99.00.

Paying for the entire year works out a lot cheaper, at less than $45 per month.

There are over 30 Quests in the Mindvalley library, and even if you only enrolled in 10 Quests over the next year, you would have essentially paid just under $60 to go through each Quest.

Now, because it’s a membership, you don’t own the programs you enroll in, you just get access to them for 12 months.

It is entirely up to you if you want to continue the yearly membership the following year or you could purchase the programs you absolutely loved if you ever wanted to take them again after your membership runs out.

The yearly membership is ideal for those who want to dive into many of the programs with no limits and completely immerse themselves in world-class transformational material for the next 12 months.

Over 13,000 Success Stories

mind valley success stories
Join one of the largest communities in personal growth

For clarity and peace of mind, there are literally thousands of success stories by fellow students of Mindvalley’s programs.

I have read many of these stories which are easily accessible on the website. You soon realize why Mindvalley has become the company it is today as it helps transform so many people’s lives every day.

My Verdict

I couldn’t recommend Mindvalley highly enough.

Is Mindvalley for everyone? Probably not, but then not everyone likes cats, Disney, or hot weather. Each to their own comes to mind here.

If you aren’t fully committed to improving yourself, raise your awareness, change your habits, or break out of your comfort zone, then Mindvalley probably won’t be your thing.

For the rest of the world, get excited for what you’re about to embark on, trust the process, and I wish you the very best of luck on this journey.

If you want to connect with me or ask me questions, leave a comment below or contact me from my contact page.

Conclusion

That concludes my Mindvalley review.

Mindvalley has quickly become one of the largest education company’s in the world and for good reason.

I hope you found this review helpful in making your decision.
